Expectation

On this morning when
Some questions may be
Answered sunrise rearranges

Shadows on the steeple
And birds gather on wires
Leaning, preening, switching

Places for their day
Then they’re gone
As if to say absence

Is just fine too

Not for the first time, I learn much from the feathered ones. It's quite a simple message really -- come, do, leave. It's OK. But for the almost (!) obsessively helpful, it causes a startle. And yet, it's so inviting that I think I'll give it a try. After I do, just go.

It's a bit radical. Do you think the others will all be able to muddle through? And we can each cherish the sun's fresh rise in our own way...
