The Snake, The Soul, The Infant

Three sounds no one hears
The rabbi said—the snake
Shedding its skin; the soul
Leaving the body; and birth

Change is silent
Surrender keeps to itself
Starting anew does not boast

Silences that sink into earth
Awakened only in the mind
Echoes of yes and yes and yes

The snake, the soul, the newborn - all emerging. Newly sensitive, finally free again, and utterly vulnerable. Is such silence the voice of reverence, the ethereal sound of awe?

Each reading of your meditation poetry, which is so nourishing for the human spirit, brings me fresh insights. This reminds me that silent change can truly be an opening to a glorious yes, yes, yes~ Thanks goodness!
