And Time

And the time
Ticks
Doesn’t it
From here
To gone when

We guess
The next
Guess the next

Waiting

To outguess
The time

No. Really. I shall not hear it as time. That ticking - perhaps it's a metronome keeping the beat for an exultant new song being composed to the fullness and the glory of mankind at its best!

The ticking - look at the young mother's foot as she taps out a rhythm for her toddler's dance.

It isn't a faucet dripping - not at all. Rather it's the tongue click in the mouth as the shoulders sway and weave to an imaginary beat that beckons and pulls at the soul.

Actually, it may very well be a baby bird whose new-found voice hasn't even reached a healthy chirp yet So it tick-clicks somehow, usually right outside my bedroom window.

So no, it probably isn't time at all. Rather we hear a pleasure beckoning, inviting, calling with the tick of a click ... and so we smile and follow...

whatever the 'tick' may be, it IS connected with time...
